FoxDMS is one of the newer names in dealer software, and its pitch is narrow on purpose: a DMS built for wholesale dealers, by a founder who says he's a licensed Texas dealer. It publishes simple prices, with no contracts and no setup fees. The thing to understand before you pick a plan is what each one caps, because the price is set by user seats and cars on the lot.

*Prices below are exactly as listed on [FoxDMS's pricing page](https://foxdms.com/pricing) on October 18, 2026. Vendors change prices; confirm your plan with FoxDMS. Full disclosure: I run a used-car lot and built DealerVLO, a competing DMS, so read my comparison sections with that in mind.*

## The short answer

FoxDMS has three plans, each priced per dealership and billed monthly:

| Plan | Price | User seats | Buyer seats | Cars | Support |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $39 / month | 1 | 2 | 50 | Email |
| Growth | $79 / month | 4 | 5 | 200 | Priority |
| Command | $199 / month | 15 | 15 | Unlimited | Dedicated account manager, phone |

All three have a 14-day free trial, no contracts, and no setup fees, and FoxDMS says you can change plans any time from your account settings.

For comparison, **DealerVLO is $29 a month flat** with no seat or car limits, and it includes a dealer website and listing feeds.

![FoxDMS list prices as of October 18, 2026: Starter is $39 a month for 1 user seat and 50 cars, Growth is $79 a month for 4 user seats and 200 cars, and Command is $199 a month for 15 user seats and unlimited cars.](/images/post/foxdms-pricing-explained/1)

## What every FoxDMS plan includes

The features are the same on every plan; the tiers only change seats, cars, and support. From the pricing page:

- Inventory management from any device
- **Floor plan interest tracking**, with an automatic dollars-per-day figure for each vehicle
- Unlimited per-VIN expenses (transport, repairs, auction fees, reconditioning)
- A true all-in cost per vehicle: purchase price plus floor plan interest plus expenses
- Wholesale and retail deal management with buyer info, sale price, and doc fees
- Profit and loss reports per deal, per vehicle, and across the operation
- A contact CRM for buyers and dealers
- Title application generation, listed as Texas Form 130-U filled from the deal

What the pricing page doesn't list is a dealer website, listing feeds to the retail marketplaces, a Buyers Guide, e-signatures, buy-here-pay-here tracking, or title paperwork for states other than Texas. For a wholesaler selling to other dealers, most of that may not matter. For a retail lot, it's the rest of the job.

## The seat and car caps are the real price

The $39 plan is 1 user seat and 50 cars. That fits a one-person wholesale operation well. It stops fitting the day you hire a second person who needs their own login, or the month you're carrying 51 cars:

- **Second through fourth user, or 51 to 200 cars:** Growth, $79 a month ($948 a year).
- **Fifth user, or car 201:** Command, $199 a month ($2,388 a year).

Count at your peak, not your average. If you stock up for tax season, your plan has to cover the busiest month. Upgrades take effect right away and downgrades at the next billing cycle, per the pricing page, so you can move between tiers, but it's another thing to watch.

DealerVLO doesn't count either: every login and every car is in the $29.

## Floor plan tracking: where FoxDMS is ahead

This is FoxDMS's best feature, and it's worth being straight about it. FoxDMS calculates floor plan interest per car, per day, and folds it into each car's all-in cost. DealerVLO doesn't do that. In DealerVLO, every car's all-in cost is what you paid plus its reconditioning and other cost lines, and floor plan interest goes on the P&L as overhead, so you see it in your monthly net, not on each car.

If you floor most of your inventory and want the per-car interest without doing the math, that's a real reason to look at FoxDMS. If you'd rather work it out yourself, the [floor plan calculator](/tools/floor-plan-calculator) does it for any car in a few seconds, and [what a rate hike costs you per car](/blog/floor-plan-interest-rate-hike-cost-per-car) walks through the math.

## What $29 a month gets you in DealerVLO

I built DealerVLO to run my own retail lot in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and it still does. One flat plan, in a browser:

- **Deals:** a deal jacket that computes the totals, trade equity, payment, and front-end and F&I gross as you type.
- **Paperwork:** the FTC Buyers Guide and your state's title and registration paperwork for all 50 states, filled from the deal, with e-signatures built in.
- **Inventory:** VIN decode, photos with an optional AI enhance, reconditioning and other costs line by line so every car shows its all-in cost and margin, and days on the lot with a flag at 60 days.
- **Website and feeds:** a dealer website that updates itself from your inventory, plus daily listing feeds to CarGurus, Cars.com, and Autotrader (their fees apply).
- **Money:** buy-here-pay-here payment tracking with a collections view, a sales report with front- and back-end gross, and a P&L that subtracts your real overhead, floor plan included.

## Where DealerVLO is the better fit

- **You sell retail.** The dealer website, listing feeds, Buyers Guide, and e-signatures are all in DealerVLO's $29.
- **You're not in Texas.** DealerVLO fills title and registration paperwork for all 50 states.
- **You have more than one person or more than 50 cars.** DealerVLO has no seat or car caps.
- **You carry BHPH notes.** DealerVLO tracks payments with a collections view.

## Where FoxDMS is the better fit

- **You're a wholesaler.** FoxDMS is built around wholesale deals, with buyer seats priced into each plan.
- **You want floor plan interest on every car.** FoxDMS computes it per day and puts it in each car's cost. DealerVLO doesn't.
- **You're a Texas dealer who wants the 130-U.** FoxDMS lists Form 130-U generation on every plan.
- **You want phone support and an account manager.** That's on FoxDMS's Command plan. DealerVLO's support is by email.

![Questions to ask before choosing FoxDMS: how many people need a login, how many cars you carry at your peak, whether you need a dealer website and listing feeds, which state's title paperwork you file, and whether you mostly sell wholesale or retail.](/images/post/foxdms-pricing-explained/3)

## Bottom line

FoxDMS is a focused, fairly priced tool for a wholesale dealer, especially a Texas one, and its per-car floor plan interest is a feature I don't have. Pick the plan by your peak headcount and car count, not today's.

If you sell retail and want the website, feeds, Buyers Guide, e-signatures, and your state's paperwork in one plan with no caps, DealerVLO does that for $29 a month. [Start a free DealerVLO trial](/signup) and run a real deal through it.
